Collinsville Fire Department Pioneers New Cardiac Monitoring Technology

COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville, Illinois, Fire Department has become the first fire department in the St. Louis region and among the first in Illinois to deploy the new ZOLL EMS and Fire Zenix Cardiac Monitors in active service.

This recent announcement marks a significant step in the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance pre-hospital emergency care and improve patient outcomes.

After a thorough evaluation of available cardiac monitor platforms and consideration of long-term clinical needs, the department selected the ZOLL Zenix monitors to replace its aging equipment.

The new monitors offer advanced cardiac monitoring and diagnostic capabilities, including enhanced ECG quality that supports earlier recognition of critical cardiac conditions.

Additionally, the devices feature integrated real-time data capture to facilitate seamless transmission of patient information from the field to hospitals, improving continuity of care.

The ZOLL Zenix monitors also include a modern, intuitive touchscreen interface designed to help providers operate efficiently in high-stress situations. They incorporate next-generation defibrillation technology that optimizes energy delivery and provides feedback to support effective resuscitation efforts.

The Collinsville Fire Department said the monitors are built as a future-ready platform, capable of supporting evolving EMS protocols, software updates, and expanded capabilities throughout their anticipated 10-year service life.

By introducing the ZOLL Zenix monitors, the Collinsville Fire Department aims to maintain its leadership role in emergency medical services through strategic planning and investment in technology and personnel.
