Vivian L. Schmitt, nee Dickinson, 66, of Belleville, IL, born October 29, 1959, in East Saint Louis, IL, passed away, Monday, April 27, 2026, at Four Fountains, Belleville, IL, surrounded by her family.
Vivian grew up in the Bridgedale neighborhood in Cahokia, IL. She worked as a bus driver for Metro Transit for 32 years and took great joy in taking care of her passengers while driving. She was family oriented and her favorite past time was spending quality time with her daughter, nephews, and nieces. She loved movies and photography. Vivian was a very giving person and never met a stranger.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon L. and Jacqueline, nee Leroy, Dickinson; and two sisters, Janet Warren and Sherry Rodgers.
Surviving are her loving husband, Timothy Schmitt; her daughter, Erin Schmitt; two sisters, Lisa Roemer and Vicki (Jimmy) Schmitt; a brother-in-law, Jeff Rodgers; two grand-cats, Yadi and Buffy; many dear cousins, nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.
