Eunice Rogier

Eunice Darlene Rogier, age 92 of Highland, IL, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, IL.

She was born on Saturday, July 8, 1933, in Pocahontas, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Ida (nee Dauderman) Kaltenbacher.

On Saturday, April 14, 1956, she married Floyd Lewis Rogier at Pocahontas Methodist Church-Pocahontas, IL, who passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013.

She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was also a member of EvUCC Women’s Guild (Honorary Member); Meals on Wheels Volunteer; Former Member of the Highland Area Community Foundation; Former Member of the Highland Home Board; Highland Food Pantry Volunteer.

Eunice was born north of Pocahontas, IL and graduated from Pocahontas High School. She attended SIU-C. She worked at the Highland Box Company, retiring in 1986 (then known as Smurfit Container). She and her husband became community volunteers. Her husband was the Founding Director of the Highland Area Community Foundation. They both were very well known in the Highland area. They enjoyed many vacations together. Eunice enjoyed playing golf, tennis, bowling and playing cards, especially bridge and pinochle.

Survivors include Nephews & Nieces – Ron (Jo Ellen) Knabel, Patricia Maroon, Judy (“Butch”) Kuhn, Barb (Ken) Randle, Karen Rogier, Rene (Kent) Robinette, Rhonda (Norman) Fohne, Michael (Dynette) Rogier and Jennifer (Tom) King; Great Nieces & Nephews – Numerous; Great Great Nieces & Nephews – Numerous; Great Great Great Nephew – 1 & Great Great Great Niece – 1

She was preceded in death by:

  • Husband – Floyd Lewis Rogier, Jr. (died 07/17/2013)
  • Father – Lawrence Ferdinand Kaltenbacher
  • Mother – Ida Elizabeth Kaltenbacher (nee Dauderman)
  • Sister – Dorothy E. (Alfred) Knabel
  • Brother-In-Law – Robert J. (Diana) Rogier
  • Brother-In-Law – Richard D. Rogier
  • Nephew – Richard Rogier, Jr.
  • Nephew-In-Law – Michael Maroon

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL, with Rev. William E. Kapp, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at Brown Cemetery in Pocahontas, IL.

A luncheon will be held at the EvUCC Social Hall after graveside service.
