Richard Lee “Rick” Cohen, 67, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 4:51 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at his home.
He was born November 9, 1958, in Granite City, Illinois, the son of Glenda Lee (Martin) Cohen of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and the late Freddie E. Cohen.
Rick worked in a variety of roles throughout his life, including as a greeter at Wal-Mart, in customer service with Mercedes-Benz, in the loan department at Alliance Credit Union, and in collections. He was a member of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in St. Louis and enjoyed attending services there.
Rick had a passion for sports and especially cherished the time he spent coaching his son in football. He loved dancing, playing pool, and creating lasting memories with those he cared about. The true joy and center of his life was the time he spent with his son.
In addition to his beloved mother, he is survived by his son, Richard “Ricky” Cohen of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Penny Havrilla of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Connie Webb of St. Charles, Missouri; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Rosati’s Pizza, 5147 Pagano Court in Pontoon Beach, Illinois.
