This weekend’s Weather: Storms Friday, warmer Saturday, cooler Sunday

Friday starts sunny and quiet, with temperatures in the low 50s early and a light south wind. By late morning, clouds begin to build, and the day turns breezy. Through the afternoon, expect a thunderstorm to develop with a high near 70. Some storms could turn strong, with hail and damaging wind possible. Rain chances climb to 89 percent, and west-southwest winds increase to around 14 mph, with gusts up to 28 mph. It may feel a couple of degrees warmer than the actual air temperature during the warmest part of the day.

Friday evening keeps a couple of showers around before skies turn partly cloudy later at night. Winds ease after sunset, and temperatures settle into the low 50s overnight, with a low around 52.

The allergy index is moderate for tree pollen Friday, while grass, mold and ragweed stay low.

Saturday looks like the pick of the weekend. Expect a warm mix of sun and clouds with a high near 80 and a low around 55. Rain chances stay low through the day, though a little rain could arrive late at night. West winds around 10 mph may gust past 25 mph at times.

Sunday turns cooler, starting with a few morning showers before clouds give way to some sunshine later in the day. The high will be near 65, and the low will drop to about 44 Sunday night. Tree pollen rises to high levels, while grass, mold and ragweed remain low.
