IHSA CLASS 2A REGIONAL SOCCER ROUNDUP

STAUNTON 5, JERSEY 1

Staunton received two goals from Kaliana Buehler, along with goals by Ryenne Dugger, Lydia Lakos, and Lacie Edwards, and won 5-1 over Jersey Community High School. Holly Lamer had the lone goal for the Panthers.

In other regional semifinal games, Carlinville won its own regional semifinal, 1-0, over Olney Richland County and will play Greenville, which won 3-0 over Pana in the second semifinal, in Friday’s final at 5 p.m. at Loveless Park. The Cavaliers are now 11-7-0, while the Comets improved to 14-11-0. The Tigers concluded at 7-8-1, while the Panthers finished 4-15-0.

CIVIC MEMORIAL 8, PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 2: Landree Wallace and Averie Huebner both had hat tricks, while Delaney Griffin and Allie Kamp both had braces (two goals each) as CM advanced to their own regional final over Southwestern.

Both Carlina McGaughey and Bryleigh Marshall had one save each in goal for the Eagles, who play Staunton in the final on Friday at 6 p.m. CM is now 11-10-1, while the Piasa Birds were eliminated at 7-14-0.

ALTHOFF CATHOLIC 6, TRENTON WESCLIN 0

In the Belleville Althoff Catholic regional semifinals at George Martz Field, the host Crusaders won over Trenton Wesclin 6-0, while Columbia eliminated Maryville Christian 6-1. Althoff is now 15-5-0, while the Eagles go to 13-8-1, with both teams going against each other for the regional title on Friday at 6 p.m. The Warriors end their season 9-11-1, and the Lions finish up at 6-12-1.
