Police Identify 54-Year-Old Victim In Palm Drive Fire

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis County Police announced on Tuesday morning, June 23, 2026, that the deceased in a tragic fire in the 2500 block of Palm Drive in Florissant, Mo., has been identified as Michael Ruhl, 54, who resided in the residence.

St. Louis County Police discovered Ruhl dead inside the residence early Monday, June 22, 2026.

Officers from the North County Precinct responded at 5:30 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2026, to assist the Florissant Valley Fire Department with a house fire in the 2500 block of Palm Drive, police said. When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim inside the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and detectives with the St. Louis Regional Bomb and Arson Unit are investigating, police said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and has not been determined.

Police described the case as an active investigation and said preliminary details may change. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
