ST. LOUIS – A man was seriously injured Monday night, July 20, 2026, in a crash in the Penrose neighborhood, where investigators said a Dodge Charger lost control during a turn, struck a curb, and overturned.
The crash happened around 8:15 p.m. July 20, 2026, according to a preliminary investigation. Authorities said the Dodge was traveling southbound on North Bircher Boulevard when it lost control while making a left turn onto Penrose. The vehicle then struck a curb and overturned, coming to rest in the 4100 block of Kingshighway Boulevard.
Investigators said a front-seat passenger, an unidentified man, had been sitting on the armrest of the car door with his upper body hanging out of the vehicle as it was being driven. He was ejected as the Dodge overturned during the crash.
EMS transported the passenger to a hospital, where he was listed in critical and unstable condition.
The driver, a 29-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.
