Major Case Squad Seeks Tips In Cahokia Heights Killing

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS – The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is asking for the public’s help as it continues investigating the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Cahokia Heights, Ill.

Lamerion L. Davis, 16, of Washington Park, Ill., was fatally shot Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the 1100 block of Camp Jackson Road in Cahokia Heights, according to the Major Case Squad. Since the squad was activated, investigators have followed up on about 30 leads while continuing interviews, reviewing evidence and pursuing available information to identify those responsible.

“We are asking anyone who has information about this incident, no matter how minor it may seem, to contact the Major Case Squad,” Alton Police Department Lt. Andrew Pierson, public information officer for the Major Case Squad, said in a statement. “Even the smallest detail could provide the breakthrough investigators need and help bring those responsible to justice.”

Authorities said anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Major Case Squad Command Post at 618-337-9500, extension 4230. Information also may be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS (8477).
