Police Identify Motorcyclist Killed In Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, Accident

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. — Authorities on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, identified the motorcyclist who died in a crash Friday evening in the 9900 block of Mackenzie Road as 21-year-old Zachary Mathews, of the 6200 block of Dexter Drive in St. Louis.

St. Louis County police said officers from the South County Precinct responded at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, to a call for service for a motor vehicle crash. Officers found a sedan and a motorcycle at the scene.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The sedan driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction detectives are investigating. Police said the investigation is active and details may change as it progresses.
