Brenda Faye Means, 65, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 10:16 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023. She was born January 30, 1958, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Troy Eldon Coleman and the late Mildred Lucille (Boling) Hall. She married Danny Lee Means on April 15, 1978, in Granite City and he survives. She retired in 2022 from the Illinois Southwest Orthopedics in Glen Carbon after 24 years of dedicated service in office administration.
She enjoyed her days of quilting and will be remembered as a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to her beloved husband of 49 years, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Brent Grimm of O’Fallon, Illinois; a son, Daryl Means of Granite City; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Stacey and Barry Baggett of Wood River; four grandchildren, McKenzie Grimm, Duncan Means, Brendan Haynes and Dallas and Brittany Haynes Jr.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruby Hall of Granite City, Stephanie and Louis Benham of Granite City; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Eugene and Kim Hall of Granite City and Troy Coleman Jr. of Tennessee; several nieces; nephews; other extended family and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Hahne and a stepson, Danny Lee Means Jr.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Amanda Cates officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
