Alice L. Robinson, 89, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her home.
She was born October 22, 1932, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Amos Jarrett and Elsie (Seebold) Jarrett Willis.
She married Donald R. “Robbie” Robinson on January 28, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri and he passed away on November 21, 2005.
Alice enjoyed her years of working with Weight Watchers. Her love in life was being with her husband. They enjoyed many years of restoring and collecting antique cars. They were members of the Metro East Antique Auto Club and attended many car shows and were the recipients of many awards and trophies throughout the years. She loved being a member and going to the Irwin Chapel’s H.O.P.E. luncheons from the very beginning. She never knew a stranger and was glad to share her knowledge and pictures of the antique cars.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jeff Kovalik of St. Charles, Missouri; a grandson, Jacob Kovalik of St. Charles, Missouri; adopted daughter, Sharon (Larry) Huffine of Granite City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Beverlee Worley of Fairview Heights and Linda and Ed Wingo of Wentzville, Missouri; special friend, Jason Denton; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband “My Valerie”, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Melvin Eberhart, and a brother, Earl “Fuzzy” Jarrett.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022, with Greg Stafford, Chaplain officiating.
She will be laid to rest with her husband at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, VITAS Hospice, or a charity of one’s choice and may be accepted at the funeral home.
