Sherrie Baker

Sherrie Ann Baker, 48 of Granite City, Illinois, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 in Eminence, Missouri.

Sherrie was born on December 29, 1970 in Granite City. Sherrie was a Certified Nursing Assistant last working at Morningside of Troy. She was a stay at home grandma who loved watching and taking care of her grandchildren. In her free time, Sherrie enjoyed her days of riding the motorcycle and driving the Corvette with her husband and listening to music. She was a very active person who loved hang out with her friends but most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Sherrie will be remembered for her out-going personality and her loving heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.

She is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Johnny Baker, whom she married on December 31, 1992; her dad, Ralph Koelker of Granite City; her children, Sara (Jason) Baker-Wimberly of Granite City, Zachary Baker of Granite City; grandchildren, Dylan Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Declan Gibson, Wilder Wimberly; sisters, Sara (Chris) Delatte, Cassie Koelker (Mike Redden) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other close family members and friends.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her mom; Terri (Frith) Koelker; daughter, Johnna Wilson; grandson, Brody Wimberly.

In celebration of Sherrie’s life, visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with funeral services being held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Henry Crippen officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorial donations are suggested to the Make- A- Wish Foundation.
