GLEN CARBON – Gretchen Ertel gives 110% to everything she does.
For her hard work, Gretchen Ertel is a Student of the Month for Father McGivney Catholic High School.
Ertel, a senior, serves as the Joan of Arc House Leader. This position requires a lot of responsibility, which Ertel demonstrates. She is also a member of the Green Griffins club.
She participates on the school’s dance team and enjoys her time with the choir and drama department. Ertel is a creative force and loves exploring these passions at her school.
She was inducted into the National Honor Society, which requires high grades and many hours of community service. Ertel has maintained her spot on the high honor roll. She was recently named an Illinois State Scholar and Silver Medallion recipient, which puts her at the top of her class.
Ertel was also named to the ILMEA All-State Chorus and prom court, two honors of which she is very proud. Outside of school, she sings in the St. Clare Catholic Church choir and works as a lifeguard.
In her limited free time, Ertel enjoys singing, dancing, reading, swimming, spending time with her loved ones, and doing her own nails. She knows exactly what she plans to do after graduation. Her teachers and loved ones will be cheering her on.
“[I plan to] go to Purdue University for acoustical engineering,” she shared.
Congratulations to Gretchen for this recognition by Father McGivney Catholic High School!
