EDWARDSVILLE – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said members of the agency, both active and retired, joined other police agencies from Madison County in the 2026 Cycle Across Illinois ride, a July 9-12, 2026, event held from Edwardsville to Chicago to honor fallen law enforcement officers and support their families.
The sheriff’s office said the annual ride “once again took to the road for our fallen HEROES” this year. The office said the event has been held since 2005 and has brought together riders, families and communities.
The ride’s purpose was threefold: “To remember the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice,” “To support their families on their healing journey,” and “To raise funds for the Illinois Chapter of C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors).”
The sheriff’s office said it was “proud to have had members of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, active and retired, ride alongside other police agencies from Madison County in this procession.”
The event traveled from Edwardsville to Chicago.
