Michael Reeb

Michael Joseph Reeb, 77, of Belleville, IL, born February 20, 1949, in Belleville, IL, died Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Mr. Reeb was a proud United States Navy veteran. Michael had worked as a salesman for The Cop Shop and then Leon Uniform in Saint Louis for 30 years, until his retirement. He loved to socialize and enjoyed hiking with friends, being outside, bird watching, and gardening. Michael was an avid Illini fan, loved St. Louis Cardinal baseball, and St. Louis Blues hockey. He was a former soccer coach and loved all things history. Most importantly, he was a great brother, father, grandfather, and especially a wonderful husband.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jared; his parents, Irwin Jr. and Helen, nee Brant, Reeb; and a brother-in-law, Mark Denton.

Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Debora, nee Bean, Reeb, whom he married on April 30, 1976; three sons, Jordan Michael (Erin) Reeb, and their sons, Colin and Ethan; Clayton Joseph Reeb (Katie Brabenec), and their daughter, Olive; and Timothy Alan (Connie) McCollough, and their daughter, Nora; four sisters, Connie (Michael) Lugge, Peggy (Robert) May, Brenda Denton, and Marybeth (Dennis) Fritz; five brothers, Irwin John III (Cheryl) Reeb, Jerry Reeb, Richard Reeb, Timothy (Beverly) Reeb, and Danny (Becky) Reeb; and multiple nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL, and to Siteman Cancer Center, especially Dr. Brett Herzog, for the wonderful care given to Michael the last few months.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. William McGhee officiating.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Swansea Improvement Hall, Swansea, IL.

Burial with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO, at a later date.
