James “Jim” Robert Kimutis, 66, of Collinsville, IL, passed away at 12:43 a.m. Thurs. Nov. 5, 2026 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
He was born July 22, 1960 in Granite City, IL to the late Raphael Matthew and Edwina Florence (Okai) Kimutis.
Jim married Cheryl L. Steinwagner on July 24, 2004 in Collinsville. She survives.
Jim retired from Bank of America after 40 years, serving in many capacities. He loved to fish, have a beer and see live music. Most of all, he enjoyed time with his family and watching his grandkids.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Courtney Kimutis of Edwardsville, IL, a step-daughter, Hailey (Dallas) Feltman of Collinsville, a step-son, Pete (Marissa) Degenhardt also of Collinsville, 2 grandchildren, Mia and Everett Degenhardt, 4 sisters, Kathy Kimutis of GA, Karen (Jerry) Buhrmester of Maryville, IL, Nancy Brennan of GA and Janice (George) Schnaus of Collinsville, a brother, Steve Kimutis of Collinsville, his beloved dogs, Rozie, Tucker, Otis and Trixie as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family and many friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Cindy Kimutis and a brother-in-law, Kevin Brennan.
The family will hold a celebration of Jim’s life at a later date with information to be announced when available.
