GODFREY – Truck horns and sirens filled the air Tuesday at Glazebrook Park in Godfrey as the 2023 Big Truck Day began.
Hundreds of kids came out to the park and was able to climb and look at the different vehicles that came out to show and demonstrate the vehicles. There were about thirty vehicles at the park that the kids were able to view. A few that were on hand was the Godfrey Fire Department has a fire truck, Madison County Sherriff Department had a police car and the bearcat.
There were a few busses, a tractor, a gas truck, a trash truck and lots more and probably the biggest attraction was a Medical Helicopter from Survival Flight.
The Godfrey Park and Recreation hosted the annual event.
“The thought is for these kids to get up close climb in the vehicle because they have seen them driving down the road but never was able to look inside the vehicles. It’s pretty cools and I think the kids really enjoy it. Several school groups made it a field trip and that’s really cool” Godfrey Park and Rec Director Chris Logan said.
