Alton Fire Department Battle Structure Fire Friday

ALTON – Alton Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 3300 block of Brown Street just after midnight on Friday.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they had heavy fire and smoke coming from the back of the house. The house appeared vacant and had a for sale sign in the front yard. Firefighters quickly was able to get the fire under control.

East Alton Fire Department was called to scene to help with the fire. No injuries were reported, and it is unknown at this time how the fire started.
