EDWARDSVILLE — Snowfall began early Saturday morning, Nov. 29, 2025, in the Edwardsville area, resulting in nearly six inches of accumulation by 8 a.m., according to the National Weather Service, which emerged as the leader in the Metro East.

The NWS reported that snow started around 3 a.m. in the Metro East region, with amounts varying across different locations. The NWS reported that Edwardsville led the area with 5.7 inches of snow. Nearby communities in Illinois recorded notable totals as well: Granite City and Brighton each had 4.5 inches, Belleville measured 4 inches, and Troy reported about 3.5 inches.
Across the Mississippi River in Missouri, snowfall totals also varied. Troy received 5.3 inches, Ferguson recorded 4.5 inches, and Elsberry reported 6 inches.
