ALTON — The Alton Police Department is investigating a robbery that took place late on November 29, 2025, at the Walgreens on the 1600 block of Washington Avenue.
According to authorities, employees reported that an individual took money from the store’s counter and fled the scene.
In the early hours of November 29, 2025, deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office located a vehicle believed to be connected to the incident. Officers from Alton responded and detained several individuals for questioning. No charges have been filed at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Officials have not released additional information.
