Gieseking, Anderson, Cook, Hawkes, Propel Edwardsville Girls To Lopsided 74-20 Win Over East St. Louis

Journey Anderson had 14 points for the Tigers on EDWARDSVILLE — Edwardsville’s girls basketball team opened Southwestern Conference play with a decisive 74-20 victory over East St. Louis on Wednesday night, Dec. 3, 2025, at East Side’s gym.

The Tigers built a commanding 40-7 lead by halftime and maintained control throughout the game.

Kennedy Gieseking led Edwardsville with 16 points, followed by Journey Anderson with 14, Gabby Cook with 11, and Ella Hawkes with 10.

East St. Louis was led by Maulysia Sewell’s six points, while Kimaya McDaniel and Javonni Winters each contributed four points.

With the win, Edwardsville improved to 3-2 overall on the season. The Tigers are scheduled to host Civic Memorial at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025.

Edwardsville girls will then travel to Belleville West on Dec. 9 and Alton on Dec. 11, with both games starting at 7:30 p.m.
