Ronald Sciarra

Ronald Anthony Sciarra, 74, of Swansea, IL., born January 15, 1951, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025, at EverVella of Swansea.

Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was married for 44 years to the love of his life, Mary H. Sciarra, who preceded him in death in 2021. Together, Ron and Mary built a home rooted in the Catholic faith.

Ron was a proud and loving father to Rhonda Sciarra and Joseph (Jennifer) Sciarra, and a proud grandfather to Claire, Brooke and Levi. He took great pride in watching his family grow and thrived when surrounded by those he loved.

A 20+ year Air Force veteran, Ron, was known for his dry wit, thoughtful conversations and unwavering support of the people in his life. He was devoted to his family, cherished his friendships and gave back to his faith community at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Belleville. Whether offering quiet encouragement or showing up when it mattered, Ron was someone others could count on.

Ron shared Mary’s love of sports and enjoyed the simple pleasures of time spent with family, being active in the Belleville community, volunteering with the local soup kitchen, and taking in a cup of coffee and conversations with friends at LongStory coffee. Ron’s life was defined by quiet dedication to his marriage, his family and the values he lived. His legacy lives on in the love he gave and the family he cherished.

Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife; his parents; and a sister-in-law, Meg Sciarra.

Surviving are his daughter, Rhonda Sciarra; his son, Joseph (Jennifer) Sciarra, and their children, Claire, Brooke and Levi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed (Judy) Sciarra and Larry (Carolyn) Sciarra; sister and brother-in-law, Rita (David) Neat, Mike Sciarra; sister and brother-in-law, Angela (Tommy) Kelley; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends; and his grandpups who will miss him deeply.
