Ramona “Mona” Lisa Wheeler, nee Perez, 70, of Belleville, IL, born October 30, 1955, in Belleville, IL, died Thursday, January 29, 2026, at her residence, with family by her side.
Mona loved to travel. She enjoyed her long career in the respiratory therapy department at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, IL, before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cesar and Lillian, nee Braun, Perez; a sister, Mary Jo Schwable; and her longtime partner, Danny Waldrop.
Surviving are a sister, Cathie (Fran) Field; three brothers, Dave (Peggy) Perez, Rick (Sue) Perez, and Charlie (Diane) Perez; a brother-in-law, John Schwable; a special niece and nephew, Addie Bruening and Ben Schwable; and many other nieces and nephews.

Burial will be held at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL, at a later date.
