BOYS BASKETBALL
COLLINSVILLE 53, BELLEVILLE WEST 48: Collinsville led West at the half 28-23, then held off a rally try by the Maroons to take the Southwestern Conference win at Vergil Fletcher Gym.
Jace Wilkinson led the Kahoks with 22 points, while Jordan Taylor had 12 points. J’Dyn Lloyd led West with 14 points, while Rickey Salmond III came up with nine points.
Collinsville is now 11-15, while the Maroons go to 18-9.
MT. VERNON 64, CAHOKIA 30: In a South Seven conference game, Mt. Vernon led at the break 45-20, and went on to win at home over Cahokia.
Jaylen Ward led the Comanches with 11 points, while Douglas Edwards III came up with five points.
The Rams are now 19-7, while Cahokia drops to 8-16.
FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 48, MARYVILLE CHRISTIAN 32: McGivney bounced back from a loss to Marquette Catholic last week with a win over Maryville at the Griffins Lair.
Chase Jansen led the Griffins with 20 points, while Brendan Kayser added eight points.
McGivney is now 17-12, while the Lions go to 15-10.
CARLINVILLE 61, PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 49: In another SCC matchup, Carlinville led at halftime 33-22, and kept on going to the win over Southwestern at the Carlinville Big House.
Carlinville is 16-11 overall and 3-4 in SCC. Southwestern is 12-16 and 2-5.
Sawyer Smith had 25 points and 7 rebounds for the Cavaliers and Tate Duckels with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the Cavaliers.
Carlinville will play Pleasant Plains tomorrow at noon at the Riverton Shootout.
Trenton Brackett led the Piasa Birds with 19 points, while Connor Wood came up with 10 points.
The Cavaliers are now 16-11, while Southwestern goes to 12-16.
In other games played last night, East St. Louis all but clinched the Southwestern Conference championship with an 89-57 win at Alton, while Edwardsville held off O’Fallon 51-50 behind Miccah Butler’s 27 points, Mascoutah nipped Triad 55-53, Carlyle defeated Red Bud 67-42, New Athen won over Lebanon 88-33, Waterloo Gibault Catholic upended visiting Granite City 65-56, Steeleville won over Marissa-Coulterville 66-38, Marquette Catholic won over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 56-28, Hardin Calhoun won its rivalry game over Carrollton 69-53, Staunton took a big South Central Conference win over Litchfield 64-39, Greenfield Northwestern got past Concord Triopia 47-43, and Winchester West Central won at White Hall North Greene 51-44.
In a result from Thursday night, Maryville Christian won at home over Sandoval 62-46.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
JERSEY 43, WATERLOO 36: Jersey led at halftime 20-14, then went on to their final MVC win over Waterloo at Havens Gym.
Meredith Gray led the Panthers with 18 points, while Makenna Brunaugh added 13 points.
Jersey finishes the regular season at 20-11, while the Bulldogs wind up at 13-17.
TRIAD 73, MASCOUTAH 50: In the final-ever night of girls basketball in the Mississippi Valley Conference, Triad took a 41-20 lead into the locker room at halftime, and went on to win over Mascoutah at Rich Mason Gym.
Erica Boyce led the Knights with 27 points, while Juliette Duff added 16 points, and Addy Gentemann scored 10 points.
Triad ends the regular season at 18-11, while the Indians go to 8-19.
In the only other game played on Friday night, Civic Memorial topped Highland 49-28. In a pair of results from Thursday night, Mt. Sterling Brown County won over White Hall North Green 63-22, and Hillsboro won at Carlinville 36-23.
