According to Collinsville Police, Gallion joined the Collinsville Police Department in April 2024 after previously serving with the St. Louis County Police Department.

The department said Gallion “had received information that a vehicle and two occupants wanted for a shooting in East St. Louis could be in Collinsville.” The Collinsville Police said Gallion located the vehicle “on the lot of a local gas station,” entered the gas station, and found “both suspects inside.”

“Ultimately, both suspects were taken into custody and found to have firearms,” the department said.

The department credited Gallion’s actions with “removing two violent offenders from our streets and potentially preventing future violence,” adding, “We thank you, Officer Gallion, for your dedication to the safety of our community!”
