Amanda Bagley

Dr. Amanda “Mandy” Kay Bagley, 38, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Alton, on January 29, 1988, the daughter of Mark S. and Nancy K. (Klindworth) Bagley.

Mandy is a 2006 graduate of Metro East Lutheran High School of Edwardsville. She attended SIUE, earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In 2023, she earned her doctorate.

She began her teaching career at Elizabeth Morris Elementary in Cahokia, IL. At the time of her death she was the Principal at Belle-Valley 119 in Belleville, IL. Mandy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. She loved teaching with all of her heart, singing, music, guitars, camping, and traveling. Mandy had also been a sponsor of “Girls on the Run”. In a final act of service, Amanda became an organ donor. To date, she has saved the lives of four people, and is expected to help many more.

Survivors include her half-brother, Aaron J. Bagley of Fosterburg, IL; two half-sisters, Alyssa J. Bagley of California, and Sara Lopez-Rush of Granite City, IL; a paternal uncle and aunt, Robert and Penny Cress of Bethalto; aunt, Jennifer A. Sales of Bethalto; maternal uncle and aunt, Brad and Susie Klindworth of Fosterburg, IL; a paternal aunt, Rosemary Bagley of Shipman; uncle, Kevin Sales of Godfrey; her loving and heartbroken cousins, Ryan (Amanda) Cress, Cara Cress, Jaclyn Bagley, Jacob (Morgan) Sales, Adam (Emily) Bagley, Andrew (Lauren) Bagley,

Tiffany (Mia) Bagley of Oregon; Erica Bagley, Stephanie (Rocky) Berliew, Holly Jones, and Alex Belloso; her special love, Jacob Atkinson of Chaffee, MO; as well as many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Nancy; a brother, Jack S. Bagley; her paternal grandparents, Jack and Evelyn Bagley; maternal grandparents, Jack Klindworth, and Betty and Lee Lawrence; and two uncles, Jeff L. Bagley, and Greg L. Bagley.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 4 pm until time of service at 7 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Kale Hanson will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the Metro East Lutheran High School Scholarship Fund in Edwardsville, IL and/or the Humane Society of Madison County.
