SOFTBALL
JERSEY 16, CIVIC MEMORIAL 4: Jersey scored three runs in the first, four runs in both the second and third, and five runs in the fourth to take the Mississippi Valley Conference win over visiting CM.
Both Chloe Beamer and Maleah Derrick had three hits each for the Panthers, while both Paxton Weirich and Jena Pegram struck out two each in the circle. Zoey Hunt had three hits for the Eagles, while Olivia Monroe had two hits and two RBIs, but struck out none while in the circle.
Jersey is now 13-6, while CM slips to 7-12.
O’FALLON 10, COLLINSVILLE 0: O’Fallon scored seven runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth to take the win over Collinsville at home.
Makenna Trice had the Kahoks’ only hit, while Aubrey Bordoni struck out five while in the circle.
The Panthers are now 12-7, while Collinsville goes to 4-16.
GILLESPIE 10 CARLINVILLE 0: Gillespie scored once in the first, then three runs in the second, third, and fourth innings to take the South Central Conference win at Loveless Park.
Molly Carriker and Hallie Gibson had the two hits for the Cavaliers, while Gibson struck out two in the circle.
The Miners are now 19-7, while Carlinville is now 6-12.
GREENVILLE 17, GRANITE CITY 2: Greenville scored six runs in both the first and third innings, and five in the second, in taking the win over Granite City at the Nelson Hagnauer Sports Complex.
Alexus Ruiz, Isabella Briagas, and Makayla Adams had the hits for the Warriors, while both Chloe Randolph and Briagas fanned one batter each in the circle
The Comets are now 18-4, while Granite goes to 2-16.
BELLEVILLE WEST 17, EAST ST. LOUIS 2: West scored seven runs in the first and 10 more in the second to take the win at home over East St. Louis.
Asia Jackson and Ariel Richardson had the hits for the Flyers, while Khayla Walker fanned three inside the circle.
The Maroons are now 10-10, while East Side goes to 1-13.
CALHOUN 18, JACKSONVILLE ROUTT CATHOLIC 0: Calhoun hit Routt with 12 runs in the first, and six more in the second to take the win at home.
Conley Klocke had three hits and three RBIs for the Warriors, while Layla Longnecker had three hits, including a home run, and two RBIs. Riley Pohlman struck out five while in the circle.
Calhoun is now 9-8, while the Rockets fall to 0-5.
In the rest of Wednesday’s schedule, Mascoutah toppled Highland 11-0, Marissa-Coulterville won over Steeleville 6-3, Nashville got past Dupo 7-5, East Alton-Wood River lost to Freeburg 10-0, and Roxana defeated Metro-East Lutheran 21-0.

TRENTON WESCLIN 3, ROXANA 1: Gianna Stassi had the only goal of the game for Roxana in their loss at Wesclin.
Sidney Ufert had four saves in goal for the Shells, who are now 5-9-0, while the Warriors improve to 6-8-1.
WATERLOO 10, JERSEY 1: Holly Lamer had the only goal for Jersey as the Panthers lost at Waterloo.
The Bulldogs kept their 100 percent record intact at 14-0-0, while the Panthers are now 4-12-0.
ALTON 8, HAZELWOOD EAST 0: Grace Massey came up with a hat trick, while Ellen Anderson had a brace (two goals), and Ava Hernandez, Kenzie Stark, and Clare Delahanty all scored in Alton’s big win over Hazelwood East, of north St. Louis County, at Public School Stadium.
Lexi Cowan didn’t have to make a save in goal in recording the clean sheet for the Redbirds, who are now 3-13-0, while the Spartans go to 6-6-0.
COLLINSVILLE 9, CENTRALIA 0: Ryelan Judiscak had a big game for Collinsville with a double brace (four goals), while Madison Everright had a brace (two goals), and Ashley Janini, Karly VanDyke, and Quinn Hall also scored in Collinsville’s win over Centralia at Kahok Stadium.
Both VanDyke and Paige Bohnenmeier had a save each in goal in sharing the clean sheet for the Kahoks, now 11-5-0, while the Orphan Annies are 2-13-1.
In other matches played on Wednesday, Father McGivney Catholic and Edwardsville battled to a 1-1 draw, Waterloo Gibault Catholic won over Piasa Southwestern 3-0, Columbia won over Pacific, Mo. in a tournament at Union, Mo., 2-0, and Freeburg blanked Carbondale 4-0.
