ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has issued a statement following a fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old third-party contractor around 2:40 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026.
The stabbing occurred just outside Busch Stadium in the 700 block of Clark Avenue in St. Louis and involved two third-party contractors working at the stadium overnight. St. Louis Metropolitan Police said Arrin Jones, 27, died at the scene. A 65-year-old who stabbed Jones remained at the scene and was initially arrested, police said.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office released a statement saying it would not disclose its reasons for declining to file charges.
“Our attorneys carefully review the facts and evidence in each case and make charging decisions based on the law and the facts. Homicide investigations often involve complex legal questions, including issues related to self-defense,” said a spokesperson for the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office. “We extend our deepest condolences to the family of 27-year-old Arrin Jones, who lost his life in this incident.”
