ST. CLAIR COUNTY – The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department announced on Friday morning, May 29, 2026, it is conducting a search and rescue operation in the Signal Hill area with assistance from the Signal Hill Fire Department, St. Clair County Special Emergency Services, and the S.A.R. K9 group.
The department said numerous fire department personnel and officers with K-9 units are walking in the area and using UTVs as part of the operation. The Signal Hill Fire Department is being used as the command post, according to the notification.
The Sheriff’s Department said it will post a follow-up to the notification when the operation has concluded.
“The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Signal Hill Fire Department, St. Clair County Special Emergency Services, and S.A.R. K9 group, is currently conducting a search and rescue operation in the Signal Hill area,” the notification said.
“There are currently numerous fire department personnel and officers with K-9 units walking in the area and using u.t.v’s,” the sheriff’s office said.
“The Signal Hill Fire Department will be utilized as a command post for this operation, and we will post a follow-up to this notification when the operation has concluded,” the sheriff’s office added.
