BETHALTO — The Civic Memorial Lady Eagles basketball team hosted a summer girls basketball shootout on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Bethalto, bringing together eight schools for a full day of varsity and junior varsity competition as teams prepared for the upcoming season.
The shootout featured Civic Memorial, Jersey, Alton, Highland, Springfield, Breese Central, Carrollton, and Triad. Each team played three games, with the schedule running from 9 a.m. until the final game concluded at 8 p.m.
Games consisted of two 20-minute halves.
At the same time, the auxiliary gym hosted a junior varsity shootout featuring the same schools.
The event gave both varsity and junior varsity teams playing time and an opportunity to gain experience ahead of their respective seasons.
The junior varsity shootout also provided a platform for next year’s teams to showcase their skills during the regular season.
