Robert Clasquin

Robert Allen “Bob” Clasquin, age 82, of Highland, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at his home. He was born April 8, 1942, in East St. Louis, a son of the late William and Mabelle (nee Koch) Clasquin.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenda Earle Clasquin (nee Taylor) whom he married July 14, 1962, in East St. Louis and who died September 29, 2012; siblings, William “Bill” Clasquin, Doris Barbeau, and Jean Deevers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lloyd “Bo” and Mignon Taylor; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Schlenker, Robert and Rhonda Kay Soldier, and Lloyd “Don” and Mary Taylor.

Bob is survived by his children, Robert and Carol Clasquin of Breese and Joel and Kim Clasquin of Highland; grandchildren, Dan “D.J.” and Natalie Huelsmann of Glen Carbon, Mark and Claudia Clasquin of South Bend, IN, Brandon and (Mollie Rueter) Clasquin of Breese, Lauren Clasquin of Highland, and Krista Clasquin of Highland; great-grandchildren, Norah and Ella Huelsmann and Luna, Sol, and Azul Clasquin; and brother-in-law, Don Barbeau of Hecker.

Bob spent his professional life as a stock broker and trust officer. He spent years at Heitner Corp, Bank of America, and State Street Bank and Trust among others. He was a faithful member of the Southern Baptist Church in Highland, where his community of faith brought him great joy and fellowship. Bob was a passionate fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball and St. Louis Blues hockey, always enjoying the games from the comfort of his home. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Highland Southern Baptist Church in Highland, 12424 IL-143, Highland, IL 62249, with Pastor Billy Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow at Highland City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 10-11:30 a.m. at Highland Southern Baptist Church in Highland.

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Highland Southern Baptist Church or Highland Food Pantry and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
