
ALTON — Charges have been filed against a local man in connection with a robbery at a Walgreens store on Nov. 28, 2025, the Alton Police Department announced Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.
Marc D. Reynolds, 37, of Alton, faces charges of aggravated robbery and resisting a peace officer following the incident at the Walgreens located in the 1600 block of Washington Avenue.
Reynolds was detained early Nov. 29 after deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect’s occupied vehicle. Alton police officers then arrived on the scene and established probable cause for his arrest.
Alton Police Chief Jarrett Ford credited the swift resolution of the case to the cooperation between law enforcement agencies.
“This incident was resolved swiftly due to the strong collaboration between our officers and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Their quick actions and coordinated efforts ensured a safe and effective conclusion to this situation,” Ford said.
The Alton Police Department also expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the continued partnership with the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office throughout the investigation.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
