Stephanie D. Mills, 49, of Granite City, was charged with one count each of methamphetamine trafficking and unlawful possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine, both Class X felonies.

Mills is accused of knowingly bringing over 100 grams of methamphetamine into the State of Illinois for the purpose of delivering the controlled substance on Nov. 3, 2025.

The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to deny pretrial release from custody for Mills. According to the petition, Mills was seen driving with a revoked license and was arrested before a search of her vehicle revealed over 100 grams of methamphetamine.

“Defendant admitted she bought it in St. Louis to sell in Illinois,” the petition states, noting Mills is “a danger to the community” with a history of flight and failing to appear in court.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office presented the case against Mills, who was remanded to jail for her initial court appearance in this case.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
