Charges Issued On Double Homicide West Florissant near Buzz Westfall

St. Louis County, MO – On Thursday, November 30, 2023, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspect Davon Reid, 33 years of age, of the 9400 block of Muriel Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri 63114, for two counts of Murder First Degree and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. A booking photo of Reid is attached. Reid is being held on a $1,000,000 cash-only, no 10%, bond.

Please note, charges are merely an accusation and Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.

The probable cause statement reads: On September 9th, 2023, at or near West Florissant and Lucas and Hunt victims Denetrice Jackson and Reginald Brandy were shot and killed in their car. A dark SUV was seen on camera before the shooting a short distance before the site of the shooting and at multiple cameras after the shooting going down West Florissant towards Jennings Station Road.

The vehicle’s plate was identified from the cameras. Officers located the SUV vehicle owner who was the former girlfriend of the male victim. She informed police that Defendant was in possession of the vehicle at the time of the homicide. A search of the vehicle revealed a shell casing that matched the casings at the scene. The search of the residence related to the vehicle revealed a 9mm magazine on the Defendant’s bedside table with other Defendant documents.

The defendant’s phone was confirmed to be at the area of the shooting at the time of the murder. The defendant admitted that was his phone number.  

St. Louis County Police Department Crimes Against Persons detectives are leading this investigation.
