Edwardsville Wins Nailbiter Over Alton 39-38 At The Collinsville Prairie Farms Holiday Classic

COLLINSVILLE – It was a tight game between rivals the Alton Redbirds and the Edwardsville Tigers at the 37th annual Collinsville Prairie Farms Holiday Classic the Tigers came out on top 39 to 38.

In the first quarter Edwardsville jumped out on top with a 14 to 11 lead. In the second quarter Edwardsville held a two point lead 24 to 22 to go into halftime. In the third quarter Alton came out slow and let the Tigers get a 33- 25 lead. In the fourth quarter Alton would not go away and outscored Edwardsville 11 to 6 but came up short at the buzzer.

Edwardsville had nine points off the bench while Alton had seven.

Edwardsville was led by Bryce Spiller with 16 points and Alton was led by Bryon Stampley Jr. with 15 points. Edwardsville moved to a record of 7-6 while Alton moves to 0-12.
