Wood River Fire Department Responded to a Dryer Fire Monday Afternoon

WOOD RIVER – Wood River Fire Department responded to the 500 block of Madison Ave for smoke showing in the laundry mat abound 3:00 p.m. Monday.

When firefighter arrived on scene, they encountered smoke in the building and a fire in one of the dryers. Firefighters quickly got the fire under control and was able to minimize the damage.

Due to the fire, Wood River requested Roxana and East Alton to the scene. No injuries were reported. It is unknown what caused the fire.
