Arch Medical Helicopter Called To Motocycle Crash On Tuesday

EAST ALTON – East Alton Fire Department and East Alton Police Department responded to the intersection of Grand Ave and Murray St. for a motorcycle accident at around 11:40a.m Tuesday.

It is unknown at this time what caused the accident but when firefighters arrived on scene the motorcyclist was on the ground. Firefighters and personnel from Alton Memorial Ambulance Service stabilized the motorcyclist for transport.

Due to the injuries of the victim Arch Medical Helicopter was called to transport the victim. The medical helicopter landed at the old Wood River Hospital. Wood River Fire Department secured the landing zone for the helicopter.

The victim was transported from the scene by ambulance to the awaiting helicopter who transported the victim to a St. Louis hospital.

East Alton Police Department is handling the investigation.
