ALTON 9, HAZELWOOD CENTRAL 0: Grace Massey and Claire Delehanty both had hat tricks, while Ellen Anderson, Jillian Dwiggins, and Elizabeth Sorbin all scored in Alton’s big win over Hazelwood Central of north St. Louis County.
Lyla Cowin had one save in goal for the Redbirds, who are now 2-4-0, while the Hawks slip to 1-2-0.
In another game played on Wednesday, Waterloo edged Belleville East 1-0.

In the games that were played on Wednesday, in baseball, Waterloo Gibault Catholic won over Chester 13-4, and O’Fallon won over Neenah, Wisc. 5-3. In boys volleyball, Belleville East defeated St. John Vianney Catholic of Kirkwood, Mo. 25-20, 26-24, and Freeburg swept Collinsville 26-24, 25-23.
