ST. LOUIS COUNTY – Two men killed in a shooting in Country Club Hills have been identified as Demetrius Wagner and Alex Taylor, both 29, as St. Louis County police continue to investigate the double homicide that occurred late Thursday, April 9, 2026, in the 5600 block of Gatesworth Avenue.
The St. Louis County Police Department said Monday that Wagner, of the 5600 block of Gatesworth Avenue in St. Louis, and Taylor, of the 1300 block of North Garden Drive in St. Louis, were pronounced dead at the scene after Country Club Hills officers responded at 10:25 p.m. April 9, 2026, to a call for a shooting.
Detectives with the county police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are investigating. Police said no suspects are currently in custody.
Country Club Hills requested that the county police assume responsibility for the case, police said. The investigation remains active, and authorities said preliminary details could change.
