TROY, IL – The Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce recently hosted the Triad High School Job Fair, bringing together local employers, resource organizations, and Triad High School students for a valuable opportunity to explore careers, employment opportunities, internships, and apprenticeships.
Held at Triad High School, the event welcomed students ages 15–18 and provided direct access to employers representing a variety of industries throughout the region. Students had the opportunity to meet with hiring managers, ask questions about career paths, learn about workplace expectations, and discover opportunities available right in their own communities.
Participating employers shared information about part-time and seasonal jobs, internship programs, apprenticeship opportunities, and long-term career pathways designed to help students gain experience and prepare for future success.
“Our employers were able to engage with the Triad students and learn more about their plans for the future,” said Dawn Mushill, President/CEO of the Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce. “The conversations throughout the event were meaningful and gave students the chance to learn directly from professionals working in a variety of fields.”
Mushill noted that the quality and diversity of participating businesses helped make the event especially impactful.
“We had some very strong, local employers in that room with apprenticeship opportunities, internship opportunities and job openings,” said Mushill. “Events like this help bridge the gap between education and the workforce while allowing students to see the many opportunities available close to home.”
The Chamber organized the job fair as part of its ongoing commitment to workforce development and strengthening connections between local businesses and future employees. By introducing students to employers early, the Chamber hopes to encourage career exploration, workforce readiness, and stronger partnerships between education and industry.
The Chamber extends its appreciation to Triad High School, participating employers, resource organizations, and the Tri-Township Library for helping make the event a success.
