
Ruth Edna Stumpf, nee Klingel, 90, of Belleville, IL, born February 20, 1936, in Engelmann Township, St. Clair County, IL, died peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Ruth was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Smithton, IL, and a member of the Women’s Club at church. She loved making and selling crafts, and candies of all kinds. Ruth was a very kind and loving person and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Louis W. Stumpf, whom she married on August 8, 1959, and who died on February 8, 2016; a daughter, Cheryl Cantrell; her parents, Albert Lloyd and Bertha Louisa, nee Kraske, Klingel; a brother, Warren (Barbara “Bobby”) Klingel; and brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Mann.
She is survived by a son, Kevin L. (Jennifer) Stumpf; a son-in-law, Richard Cantrell; three grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Stumpf, Derrick (Katelyn) Stumpf and Lanette (Ryan) Wieschhaus; Four great-grandchildren, Elliott and Bennett Stumpf and Paityn and Jaxson Stumpf: a sister, Margie Mann; and many family and friends.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
Funeral: Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Pastor Debby Harness officiating.
Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
