East St. Louis Woman Shot, Killed In The Greater Ville Neighborhood

ST. LOUIS – An East St. Louis woman believed to be 43 years old was shot and killed early Sunday, July 12, 2026, in the Greater Ville neighborhood of St. Louis, where officers found her inside a vehicle that had struck a streetlight, according to St. Louis Metropolitan Police.

District 6 officers responded around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, July 12, to a shooting call in the 2900 block of North Newstead. When officers arrived, they found an adult female who had been shot inside the vehicle.

The woman died at the scene, police said. Authorities said she is believed to be 43 and from East St. Louis, but identification is pending. Homicide detectives responded and will lead the investigation.
