Hayden Ray Sipes, 17, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was born September 19, 2006, in Belleville, Illinois, to Andrew Robert Sipes and Sarah Lynn Kniker.
Hayden was a junior at Granite City High School, where he excelled academically and socially. He had a wide circle of friends who shared his enthusiasm for cars, racing, music, and nature. Since childhood, he collected Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars, and later developed a keen interest in antique and muscle cars. He loved to watch the races, as well as play racing video games. He also enjoyed the outdoors, while camping and fishing with his family. He had a passion for music and played the guitar. Hayden was a bright and kind young man who made a positive impact on everyone he met. He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished by his family and friends as a loving son, grandson, brother, and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dannie R. Sipes, Sr.
Surviving are his parents, Andrew Robert Sipes and Sarah Lynn Kniker of Granite City, Illinois; his adoring big sister, Hailey (Jacob Moore) Sipes, of Granite City, Illinois; his paternal grandparents, Janet (Edward) Schenk, of Madison, Illinois; his maternal grandparents, Mary Lynn (John, Jr.) Kniker, of Belleville, Illinois; his aunts and uncles, Dannie R. (Angel Penrod) Sipes, Jr.; Darron (Karen) Sipes, Rebecca (Issac) May, John (Emily) Kniker, III, and Alex (Alexis) Kniker; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral: A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at Irwin Chapel in Granite City, Illinois. Inurnment will be held privately in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Illinois.
