Makenna Elayne Berkbigler, 32, Of Granite City, IL, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 surrounded by family.
She was born to Alissa Pacheco and Matt Berkbigler on August 13, 1991 in Maryville, IL. Makenna was a Pediatrics Nurse at Southern Illinois Health Care in Alton. She was a very caring person, loved spending time at the beach and she was an absolute blessing to her grandparents, Poppy and Mona and was the best Auntie Kenna ever. Makenna was blessed to experience the kindness and love of Shawn Anglin.
Makenna is survived by her parents: Alissa and Robert Downs; 4 brothers; Alexander (Rachel) Schmith, Isaiah (Taryn) Schmith, Lukas Downs, Robert Downs; a sister: Cali Retzer; grandparents: Robert and Mona Pacheco; a niece; Isla “Cheri” and 2 nephews; Issac and Kalvin, with 2 more on the way..
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm, Monday, October 2, 2023 at Wojstrom Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
