GRANITE CITY – Granite City High School hosted the Madison County Cross Country Meet for the girls and boys on Tuesday at Wilson Park in Granite City.
In both the girl’s and boy’s meet the schools were split into large and small schools. In the small school boys meet Civic Memorial dominated and took the first seven spots. Cm’s Max Weber finished first with a time of 15:28 followed by Jacob Cranford (16:15), Lucas Naugle (16:47), Tullio Zampieri (16:54), Landon Kearbey (17:01), Josh Cranford (17.05), and DJ Dutton (17:21).
Father McGivney was led by Connor Schmidt who placed ninth with a time of 17:41 and teammate Levi Huber who placed tenth with a time of 17:45.
Roxana’s Noah Crump placed twelfth place with a time of 18:13. EWAR was led by Evan Baker who finished seventeenth with a time of 18:46.
In the team standings, Civic Memorial took first followed by Father McGivney and MELHS finished third.
In the large school meet Drew Twyman of Triad took first with a time of 15:33 followed by Granite City Landon Harris (15:34) and Triad Andrew Pace (15:52). Edwardsville Colin Luitjohan placed fifth with a time of 16:02.
Alton was led bu Noah Gallivan who finished 13th with a time of 16:39.
In the large school Edwardsville placed first followed by Troy and Highland.
