Officer Jose Cerna Retires After 20 Years With The Collinsville Police Department

COLLINSVILLE – Officer Jose Cerna closes a chapter in his decorated law enforcement career with the Collinsville Police Department retiring after 20 years of service.

Officer Cerna began his career with the Collinsville Police Department on October 28th, 2002, after previously serving with both the Fairmont City and Granite City Police Departments.

Over the course of the last 20 years, Officer Cerna served the Collinsville Police Department in a variety of capacities. He served as K9 handler with his long-time partner Jas, ILEAS Mobile Field Force operator, Field Training Officer, DEA Task Force Officer, Detective, and was a valuable member of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis and Child Death Investigations Task Force.

Officer Cerna has always been a well-respected and revered police officer by both his peers and the public he has served.
