Staunton Wins East Alton-Wood River Boys Invite; MELHS Third, Maryville Christian and EA-WR Are Seventh and Eighth

WOOD RIVER – Staunton, Metro East Lutheran, Maryville Christian, and East Alton-Wood River showcased significant talent in the East Alton-Wood River Invite on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Boys Highlights

Staunton won the meet with 79 points, Metro East Lutheran was third with 67 points, Maryville Christian had 48 points, and EA-WR had 47 points for seventh and eighth, respectively.

Chase Lading of Maryville Christian won the 800 meters (2:07.19); Jack Shank of MELHS was third (2:08.51); and LeBron Reed was fourth (2:09.01).

Shank won the 1,600 (4:39.16), while Andrew Price of Carrollton was fourth (4:49.23).

Metro East Lutheran’s foursome of Jack Shank, Mathias Askins, Wyatt Goeckner and Henry Reisech won the 4 x 800 relay in a time of 9:04.84.

Jasiah Brown of EA-WR was sixth in the 200 (24.73).

Carson LeMond was fifth (55.41).

Staunton’s Aiden Green was second in the 3,200 (10:26.49); and Lucas Abbott of MELHS was third (10:42.71).

Cade King of Maryville Christian was second in the 110 hurdles (15.90) and Brice Stewart of MELHS was fourth (16.48).

King also won the 300 hurdles (40.54); Lucas Dillon of Staunton was third (43.89).

Khiry Taylor of Staunton won the shot put (41-7.75).

Taylor was third in the discus (37.14 meters).

Drew Kamadulski of Maryville Christian went 1.67 meters for fourth in the high jump.

Brice Stewart of MELHS was third in the long jump (18-11.75); and Jasiah Brown of EAWR was second (13.04) meters in the triple jump.

Maryville Christian was second in the boys 4 x 400 relay and Staunton was second in both the 4 x 200 and 4 x 100 relays.
