
Roland “Smiley” Seibert, age 89, of Belleville, IL, born on May 6, 1937, in Belleville, IL, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.
Throughout his lifetime, Roland L. Seibert was deeply committed to service, leadership, and community involvement. He was a Life Member of Elks Lodge #664, where he served as Past Exalted Ruler, Grand Tiler, Past Illinois State President, Past District Deputy, and Past Elk of the Year. He served on the Board for Children’s Care and the Grand Lodge Convention Exhibit, was the State Chair for the Easter Bunny Program and led local youth initiatives including the Hoop Shoot and Sucker Drive programs.
Beyond his dedication to the Elks, Roland was a longtime member of the Moose Fraternity, holding membership with Caseyville Moose Lodge #4. He was also an Ancient Free & Accepted Mason with St. Clair Lodge No. 24 in Belleville, IL. In addition, he was a proud member of the American Legion Post 1937, continuing his commitment to service and fellowship through the veteran’s community.

Smiley was also the owner/operator of Lincoln Trail Towing and Lincoln Trail Auto Body since 1971.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Seibert and Myrtle Schaedler Lynch; his twin brother in infancy, Arnold and his sister, Cindy Stride.
Smiley is survived by his wife, Sharon Seibert, nee Futrell; his son, Tracy (Renee) Seibert of Fairview Heights, IL; his twin granddaughters, Chasney Seibert of Fairview Heights, IL and Cylee (Dre) Coney of Belleville, IL; his siblings, Carol Burtz of Belleville, IL, Linda Sobczak of Belleville, IL, Cathy Lynch of Belleville, IL, and John Lynch of Belleville, IL; and his brother-in-law, Ron Futrell of St. Charles, MO.
Memorials are preferred to Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corporation and can be given at the Mortuary.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, with a Elk’s Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL. Entombment will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
